get some help

Someone once said that no man is an island. I don't think that's true. I've known some that were truly islands, and they were miserable. I used to think it was arrogant to refuse help and just try to do things on your own, but now I think it's just sad. Why would anyone prefer to be alone?
.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.
For if either of them falls, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up!
Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart."
.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Thanks for your wishes jerry!

I think that most people who SAY that they prefer being alone, are actually putting on a tough front, so people dont realise how alone they actually feel/or feel sorry for them. Its like being stuck in a dead end job and telling people how you love your job, just cuz you dont have better opportunities.

Being alone is no way to live... Having someone to share your happiness and divide your sorrows with is certainly the greatest thing one could ever hope for.

Sometimes people might feel like they would rather be an island because, for whatever reason, they're afraid they'll fall to peices on the mainland. Out of fear and insecurity they row away from shore and put up the best defenses they can. When someone doesn't feel the need to put up defenses they do just fine living with everyone else and have a much happier and enjoyable life.

So now that you've had a couple of days to reflect, what was the best part of your trip?

Most gracious Lord Chancellor, the natives are getting restless. It may be time for another post.
